The 21Y97 Valve provides the detachable connection between the flexible socket and the distal
portion of the socket frame (for example in the ISNY Socket). The valve kit comprises all parts
including patterns which are required for adequate installation.
For lateral installation use 21Y105 Valve Kit (without tube).

(6) 4Z8 Screw-in Aid

2 Safety instructions

NOTICE
Risk of damage if using powder. Any kind of powder on the inner side of the socket or on
the skin can restrict or disable the functionality of the valve during use. Avoid using powder in
areas close to the valve.

3 Instruction for installation

The valve can be provided at the distal end, centrally or laterally, depending on the length of the
residual limb. Detailed instruction for the fabrication of an ISNY Socket using the 21Y97 Valve is
given in the Technical Information bulletins 2.3.5 and 2.3.6.
Hold the 21Y101 Pattern for Vacuum Forming in position at the distal end of the plaster cast using
a wood screw (Fig. 2).
