Section 4: Adjustments
Inner Skid Shoe Adjustment
Figure 4-5
Inner Skid Shoes
Refer to Figure 4-5:
1.
Disengage power take-off and park on level ground.
2. Place gear selector in park or in neutral with park
brake set.
3. Operate 3-point lift lever to raise Snow Blower off the
ground high enough to remove skid shoes (#1) from
skid shoe mounts (#2).
4. Shut tractor engine off and remove switch key. Make
sure power take-off has stopped before dismounting
tractor.
5. To keep Snow Blower from dropping while adjusting
skid shoes (#1), place non-concrete support blocks
under Snow Blower support rests (#7).
6. Remove wire retaining pin (#4) and all spacers above
skid shoe mount (#2).

Pull skid shoes (#1) out of skid shoe mount (#2).
8. Raise or lower Snow Blower as follows:
To raise the Snow Blower, add an equal amount of
spacers (#3, #5, and/or #6) between skid
shoes (#1) and skid shoe mounts (#2).
To lower the Snow Blower, remove an equal
amount of spacers (#3, #5, and/or #6) from
between skid shoes (#1) and skid shoe
mounts (#2).
9. Reinsert skid shoes (#1) into skid shoe mounts (#2).
10. Store unused spacers on top of skid shoe mounts.
(Three #3 spacers shown on top in illustration)
11. Secure spacers and skid shoes with wire retaining
pin (#4). Make sure wire retainer is caught over end
of pin.

Outer Skid Shoes
Refer to Figure 4-6:
1.
Disengage power take-off and park on level ground.
2. Place gear selector in park or in neutral with park
brake set.
3. Operate 3-point lift lever to raise Snow Blower off the
ground high enough to adjust skid shoes (#1).
4. Shut tractor engine off and remove switch key. Make
sure power take-off has stopped before dismounting
tractor.
5. To keep Snow Blower from dropping while adjusting
skid shoes (#1), place non-concrete support blocks
under Snow Blower support rests (#2).
6. Loosen carriage bolt (#3A).
7.
Remove carriage bolt (#3B).
8. Raise or lower the Snow Blower as follows:
To raise the Snow Blower, rotate skid shoes (#1)
down.
To lower the Snow Blower, rotate skid shoes (#1)
up.
9. Reinsert carriage bolt (#3A) into one of 5 skid shoe
square holes "C" and one of two holes "A" or "B"
behind the skid shoe mounting tab. Secure skid
shoes with hex flange locknuts (#4).
10. Tighten carriage bolts (#3A & #3B) to the correct
torque.
