11. Commissioning
The system should be commissioned by a competent person, trained by Eaton.
The person should possess a basic knowledge and understanding of Section 2 and
Section 3 of the BS 5839-9: 2011 standard.
A network system requires to be configured by an EATON trained professional.
Main panel (MX16) is configured to operate in standalone mode as out of factory
configuration. Network panel (NX16) is configured to operate in network mode as out
of factory configuration. For network installation, Main panel needs to be converted
from standalone mode to network mode by an EATON trained personnel. All main
panels that are part of installation are required to undergo the change.
Network topology requires at least one panel to be a main panel. Up to 32 panels of
any variant (MX16, NX16) can be connected on the loop. Each panel can support up
to 16 Outstations.
Once wiring for all units is completed and verified, network topology installation can
be configured and completed from a central point - 'MASTER' MX16 panel.
N ote: Label the wires where ever possible.
