10.4 Cabling requirements

All cabling must comply with local regulations, codes of practice and standards.
panel / outstations: Enhanced Fp200 2x2 / 1x4 Core; 1.5mm
for power and data connections to Outstations. Use screened cabling throughout
the installation. Ensure screen wiring is securely bonded to the earth/shield
terminals provided.
mains wiring: VoCALL 16 requires a mains supply exclusive to the panel that uses
fixed three-core wiring (between 0.75mm
pole isolating fuse connection unit, fused at 3A. Unauthorized operation of the mains
supply must not be allowed and the fused spur should be labeled "EMERGENCY
VOICE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM: DO NOT SWITCH OFF" . Mains wiring must be
segregated from all other system wiring.
Good practices:
Cables should be installed without external joints wherever practical.
Joints should be enclosed in Fire resistant junction boxes, labeled with the words
"EmErGENCY VoICE CommuNICAtIoN SYStEm" .
