Changing the Temperature of the Sample
1. Power on the liquid temperature control unit.
ATTENTION! Using sample heating/cooling feature without the liquid
temperature control system can cause damage to the Peltier modules.
2. Open the Additional Operations region by clicking the
corner of the program main window.
3. Switch on the temperature controller. Upon turning it on the Thermostat button will
appear in the Additional Operations panel.
4. Switch to the Thermostat tab (the Thermostat button on the additional operations
panel) (see Fig. 7-15).
5. In the Range drop-down list select Peltier.
6. Set the working temperature value in the T= input field.
7. Switch on sample heating/cooling using the
NOTE. When working with the VT thermal assembly, during initial heating, as
well as at any subsequent temperature changes, it is not necessary to retract the
sample from the probe as the design of the scanner enables compensation of the
resulting thermal drifts.
8. Click
on the tool bar (Fig. 7-16) to start plotting the temperature curve
