4. Install the substrate with a sample on the sample stage using tweezers (see Fig. 6-2).
Use invar substrates supplied with the instrument. Substrates are secured on the sample
stage by the magnetic clamp.
ATTENTION! When applying the sample-heating feature use only invar
substrates. Substrates from other materials could cause additional thermal
drift due to difference of expansion coefficients.

6.2. Probe Installation

In order to ensure the temperature drift characteristics stated in the specifications, probes
without reflective coating should be used.
To install the probe perform the following operations:
1. Put the cover of the temperature chamber on a tilted surface to keep a probe mounting
plane more or less horizontal (to prevent the probe from sliding when mounting it onto
the cover).
2. Move the spring clamp to an auxiliary position as indicated in Fig. 6-3.
3. Take a probe from the set with tweezers. Don't put it anywhere upside down since the
probes in the box are put with the tips up.
