5. Use the laser positioning screws to obtain maximum Laser signal.
6. Turning the positioning photodiode screws adjust the values of the DFL and LF
signals close to zero.
7. Re-adjust the Laser signal. The value of the Laser signal shall be around 5÷10 nA.
The adjustment of the optical system is complete.

6.6. Selecting Region to Scan

During selection of the scan region the scanner moves the sample. This procedure is
accomplished using the ThermoheadMover_2_3 script.
In order for the script to be available in the script list (if not already done by the installer):
- copy file ThermoheadMover_2_3.txt in folder Nova\VBScripts;
- and file ThermoHeadMover.ini in folder Nova\VBScripts\Config.
The initial position of the substrate with the sample shall be as follows:
- the sample is far from the probe (~0.5 mm);
- the substrate is raised above the supporting ring (see Fig. 6-13).
