2.4 When Using the Emulator for the First Time

2.4.1 Downloading Firmware

If you have purchased this emulation probe newly, you need to download the firmware. The download procedure is
given in Figure 2.3.
Before downloading the firmware, check that emulator debugger M3T-PD30F is installed to your host machine and the
PC7501 is connected to the host machine. For more details, see each user's manual of the emulator debugger
M3T-PD30F and the PC7501.
Install oscillator circuit board OSC-3 (20 MHz)
included with this product to the PC7501
Connect this product and the PC7501.
Within 2 seconds of turning the power ON,
press the system reset switch of the PC7501
and check it is in maintenance mode.
Startup emulator debugger M3T-PD30F
and download the firmware.
Quit the emulator debugger
and shut down the PC7501.

2.4.2 Self-check

Execute the self-check after downloading the firmware to check that the emulation probe operates properly. Figure 2.4
shows the self-check procedure.
Within 2 seconds of turning the power ON,
press the system reset switch of the PC7501
and check it is in maintenance mode.
Press the system reset switch of the PC7501
to start the self-check.
After about 30 seconds, check that the self-check
is terminated normally and shut down the PC7501.
