8. Installation of the chaser holders
To install the chasers holders with the set chasers into the cutting head, push back
the guiding ring with excentric ring towards the flange thus far so that the holder is
swivelling in the holder guidance
The chaser holders are inserted in base body boreholes and are swivelled in the
holder guiding. Please take note that the sliding surface is clean, and that you
keep the right order when installing them:
For right- handed threads: no. 1 to 4 clockwise direction
For left- handed threads: no. 1 to 4 anti-clockwise direction
Check the holders regarding smooth sliding in the guiding. This means the swivelled
in holders have to be pressed outwards by the pressure sleeves.
An efficient functioning of the cutting head is dependent hereof.
You can now push forward the components guiding- and excentric ring. In doing so
the chaser holders are pressed together by means of the clamping ring.
Annotation:
Contrary to the other cutting heads the ZR 26-I does not have any inner stop bolt
which engages automatically and prevents the chaser holders from swivelling out
again. Therefore we deliver a fastening bolt which is put on the flange and limits the
opening stroke of the head. Should the control function as limitation of the control
strokes, it has to be removed from the head.
