The Troubleshooting Guide, shown below, is included to
help you quickly locate problems that can happen using
your 2310 Weatherproofer III. Follow all safety
precautions stated in the previous sections when making
any adjustments to your machine.

UNIT SIDE DRAFTS OR MOVES SIDE
TO SIDE
SHANKS PLUGGING WITH RESIDUE
SHANKS NOT PENETRATING
WHEEL BEARING FAILURE
HYDRAULIC - DISC GANG LIFT
CYLINDER NOT FULLY EXTENDING
HYDRAULIC - ENTIRE UNIT SETTLING
DISC GANG PLUGGING
DISC GANG WILL NOT TURN OR
PUSHES SOIL
DISC BLADES LOOSE AND/OR
SHEARING ROLL PIN
WINGS FLOATING/BOUNCING IN FIELD

Troubleshooting Guide

PROBABLE CAUSE
Disc gangs uneven depth
Unit not level when under power in the field
Excessive disc gang depth or down
pressure
Tire pressure too low
Unit not level front to rear
Lift wheels not carrying enough weight
Unit not level front to rear
Unit not level
Discs not cutting residue
Unit not level
Excessive disc depth
Points worn
Triple-lip seals not installed correctly
Hoses not properly connected
Depth stop valve not working
Operating depth too deep
Conditions too wet
Depth set too deep for loose or wet
conditions
Gang bearing failure
Gang not tightened properly
Wing latch not hooked

SOLUTION
Adjust depth/rephase disc gang
cylinders
(See "Hydraulic Disc
Gang Lift System" on page 4-6.)
Level unit front to rear (See "Leveling
(Front-to-Rear)" on page 4-7.)
Reduce disc depth.
Check inflation.
Adjust unit to be level.
Adjust depth stop and raise implement.
Adjust unit to be level.
Level machine (See "Leveling
(Front-to-Rear)" on page 4-7.)
Adjust disc depth.
Level unit front to rear (See "Leveling
(Front-to-Rear)" on page 4-7.)
Reduce depth
Install new points.
Install seals with the lips pointing outward
away from the hub.
Check hose routing
Repair valve
Raise unit.
Wait until conditions more favorable.
Raise implement or wait until conditions
are more favorable.
Replace bearing
Retighten gang shafts to 1200-1500 ft-lbs.
If gangs have ran loose, gangs may
require disassembly to remove soil to
properly torque gang shafts. Replace
any worn components, shafts/spools,
etc.
Fully extended fold cylinder.
