6. MAINTENANCE

6.1. THE FOUR BASIC RULES

Caution
Before working on the tool, check that
the On / Off switch is in the off position
«0» and disconnect the battery power
lead.
Your chainsaw is fitted with an impact detection system
In the event of impact (kickback) your chainsaw will stop
immediately.
Rule No. 1: The chain tension must be
correct
• A properly tensioned chain improves cutting perfor-
mance and reduces the risk of breakage and / or de-
railment of the chain.
• Refer to Section 6.4, "Automatic chain tension".
Rule No. 2: The chain must be well
lubricated.
• Constant lubrication reduces wear and the risk of
breakage of components and of the tool.
• Refer to Section 6.8, "Chain guide lubrication".
Rule No. 3: The chain must be sharp.
• A properly sharpened chain improves cutting perfor-
mance and reduces wear.
• Refer to the Section 6.9, "Sharpening the chain"
