Appendix A Technical Information
A.1 Troubleshooting
Below, you will find a table that will help you in solving problems during the installation of the device. If you cannot
solve the problem, ask your distributor for additional information.
Problem
None of the LEDs lights up on
the device.
The local console doesn't re-
spond.
The local console only displays
strange characters.
You have forgotten the device
password.
The LAN LED never lights up in
green.
The DSL LED never lights up in
green.
The WLAN LED never lights up
in green.
The date and time configured in
the device will be lost on restart.
A.2 Software Updating
The Teldat C1+L routers can be updated to new releases. Please consult your distributor for new releases.
There are various ways to update a Teldat router: please see the software upgrading manual for further information.
The software required to update the Teldat routers is provided in a format known as distribution. This consists of a
single file containing all the necessary files to update your device as well as detailed information on the content.
A.3 Connectors
Teldat C1+L Router
Solution
Check the power supply to the device (power source, ON/OFF switch, main power
outlet).
Check that the console cable is the correct one and that it's connected to the
device and the asynchronous terminal.
Check that the terminal has the correct port configured.
Check that the terminal configuration is 9600 8N1. Check that the console is not in
an events process.

Ignore the configuration by using the RST pushbutton as explained in the section
on this.
Check the Ethernet cable and the connection to the network (you may need a
crossover cable).
If the device has an xDSL interface available, check the connection to the network
or to the splitter and make sure that the telephone line you are connected to sup-
ports xDSL service.
Check the configuration for your device and that for the remote station(s).
If these parameters were configured through the time set command, they will be
lost when the device is restarted. In order to maintain date and time configuration,
use NTP.
