The Teldat C1+L router is perfectly adaptable to a wide variety of IP scenarios: from providing simultaneous access to Internet for private LAN users and/or for the corporation through Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) to the adaptation of teleprocess networks and SNA support.

The Teldat C1+L router has the following available connectors: 1.2.2.1 4 port Ethernet Switch (connectors LAN1..4) The Teldat C1+L router has a 410/100BaseT switch incorporated with an automatic MDI/MDIX to connect to the loc- al area network (LAN). Please pay close attention to the labeling. This is important in order to avoid mixing up the switch with other types of ports.

1.2.2.2 ADSL/ADSL2+ connection over PSTN (DSL connector) The Teldat C1+L router has a DSL connector to connect to an ADSL/ASDL2+ network over PSTN. This is a female RJ11 connector with 4 wires. The central pair is used for data transmission/reception.

1.2.2.3 Wireless LAN connection (ANT connectors) The Teldat C1+L router has two RF antenna connectors to connect an external antenna to improve the quality of the signal received and transmitted by the Wireless LAN module. This module is internal and can be activated by pur- chasing the corresponding software license.
1.2.2.4 Connecting a 3G USB device (USB connector) The Teldat C1+L router has a USB HOST 2.0 Type A connector interface which allows 3G USB modems to be con- nected. The interface can be activated by purchasing the corresponding software license.

1.2.3.2 Configuration using an IP terminal (connectors LAN1..4) The Teldat C1+L router includes a default configuration that activates if the device has not been previous configured or if the “Procedure to establish the default configuration” has been executed (this is explained further on in this manual).
The RST pushbutton is located on the rear of the Teldat C1+L router. It is protected in such a way that it’s only ac- cessible from the outside of the device by using something with a sharp end to press it.

There are various ways to update a Teldat router: please see the software upgrading manual for further information. The software required to update the Teldat routers is provided in a format known as distribution. This consists of a single file containing all the necessary files to update your device as well as detailed information on the content.
