    Introduction The Baicells Atom ID04/06-6.5 indoor user equipment (UE) is part of the Baicells broadband wireless access system that integrates with Long-Term Evolution (LTE) backhaul networks to provide subscribers with Internet access. The UE, also referred to as Customer Premise Equipment (CPE), communicates through a wireless connection to the operator’s eNodeB’s (eNB) at cell sites located in the region.

    DC-5V Power Adaptor RJ-45 Ethernet Cable Description The Baicells Atom indoor UE is a small, compact unit that sits on a desktop, bookshelf, or other flat surface inside the building (Figure 2). Figure 2: Dimensions On the top of the unit is a card slot for the Baicells Universal Subscriber Identity Module (USIM) card provided through the operator or distributor.

    Table 3: Interfaces Interfaces vary by model; not all models will have all of the interfaces listed. Other features as well as more in-depth information about the UE GUI are covered in the document referenced above.

    5.2.2 Change the Password To secure access to the UE, Baicells strongly recommends that you change the GUI password from its default value and record the new password in case you forget it. The password may be 5 to 8 ASCII characters (letters, numbers, and special characters).

    IP address. Selecting Bridge mode disables NAT and allows the UE to function as a DHCP server without IP address conflict. Optionally, in CAT6/7 you have two other choices, Router mode and Tunnel mode. Baicells does not recommend using Router mode. The Tunnel mode may be used if, for example, you want the UE to connect to a business's Virtual Private Network (VPN).

    5.2.5 Configure the Scan Method / Cell Selection The Scan Method / Cell Selection setting has to do with how the UE selects the best wireless signal between it and an eNB for its connection to the LTE network. The setting determines which frequencies the UE’s routine scan of available frequencies will cover.

    CloudCore to connect to the backhaul, the APN establishes one connection between the UE and the EPC (core network) via the eNB. Baicells CloudCore EPC, as well as eNBs operating in HaloB mode, support only one APN, which is configured by default.

The examples are from a CAT4 UE, and do not necessarily reflect the information you will see for your UE due to different models.

    Figure 22: Devices List 6.3.7 WLAN Settings (Model EG2030C only) The Baicells CAT6/7 Indoor UE, model EG2030C, has built-in 802.11 Wi-Fi capabilities, providing converged LAN and Wireless LAN (WLAN) interfaces into one integrated LTE service. The Wi-Fi uses 2.4 GHz unlicensed spectrum. For model EG2030C, you can configure up to 4 independent Service Set Identifiers (SSIDs) on the local network.

    NOTE 1: The feature requires a connection to an authentication server to function. NOTE 2: Wifidog is not recommended for Baicells UEs using Power over Ethernet (PoE). You can create a whitelist to identify which website addresses, or URLs, users are allowed to reach.

    In the Advanced Settings tab (Figure 26), if you want all hotspot users to use the same authentication server and login requirements, enter the server path information and set the Check internal field (maximum time, in seconds), for logging in and the Client timed out field (maximum amount of time before failure to authenticate times out, in minutes).
