Basic Configuration

Reference:
Baicells Configuration & Network Administration Guide
The basic configuration settings allow you to get the UE up and running, i.e., connected to the Internet.
Other features as well as more in-depth information about the UE GUI are covered in the document
referenced above.
As mentioned in the previous section, the CAT6/7 GUI looks different from the CAT4 GUI (Figure 5). In
this section both GUIs are shown, and the information points out any differences in the menu structure,
fields, and features between the two.
How to log in to the UE GUI was explained in
NOTE: The CAT6/7 GUI offers a Wizard automated setup feature that, when run, will automatically
configure the UE to the recommended settings. You can still change the settings in the Settings
tab. The CAT6/7 GUI also has an online Help menu.

5.2.1 Check Status Icons

As mentioned previously, the GUI home page displays UE status icons at the top of the window (Figure
8). Depending on whether you are using a CAT4 or a CAT6/7 GUI, these icons may include connection
status, signal level, LAN link status, the number of devices connected to the UE, and the PIN (USIM)
status. In CAT6/7 you need to hover your cursor over an icon to see the text display. What the text says
depends on the status of the UE at that moment.

Figure 8: Status Icons

These at-a-glance fields give a quick indication if anything is wrong with basic UE operation. The
connection status and LTE signal intensity/strength icons were introduced in the previous section as
part of the initial installation procedure.
The possible connection states may be Checking SIM, Scanning, Registering, Acquiring IP, Connected,
or Disconnected. If the UE is checking the SIM card status, scanning the frequencies, registering with
the network, or acquiring an IP address, it means the UE is in the process of establishing the connection.
