Operation with a general DP master

A.2.1 Bus start

The Festo CPX terminal can be controlled by any PLC, PC or
industrial PC with a PROFIBUS−DP module as per standard
EN 50170.
Read the information on the following themes in the
appropriate sections:
GSD: Section 2.1.3
Module consistency, FREEZE and SYNC, identifiers:
Section 2.1.1
Status bits: Section 3.3
In order to commission the CPX terminal properly, the
DP master must carry out the following functions in this
sequence:
1. request diagnosis
2. send parametrizing data
During the start parametrizing, the parameter set is
loaded into the field bus node by the master. The node
distributes the parameters to the modules.
3. check the configuration data
4. transfer input and output data (cyclic exchange of data)
5. read diagnostic information.
The structure and contents of the individual telegrams are
described in the following sections.
