Power error messages

Power to the blade server is provided by shared BladeCenter unit resources. See
the following table and "Solving shared BladeCenter resource problems" on page
66.
v Follow the suggested actions in the order in which they are listed in the Action column until the problem
is solved.
v See Chapter 3, "Parts listing, Types 1885 and 8853," on page 73 to determine which components are CRUs
and which components are FRUs.
v If an action step is preceded by "(Trained service technician only)," that step must be performed only by a
trained service technician.
Message
System Power Good fault
VRD Power Good fault
System over recommended voltage for +12v. Informational only.
System over recommended voltage for
+0.9v.
System over recommended voltage for
+3.3v.
Action
1. Reseat the blade server.
2. Check the function of the shared BladeCenter unit resources (see
"Solving shared BladeCenter resource problems" on page 66).
3. If the blade server does not have a Memory and I/O Expansion
Blade installed, make sure that the power jumper is correctly
installed in power connector J164.
4. If a Memory and I/O Expansion Blade is installed, reseat it.
5. Replace the following components one at a time, in the order
shown, restarting the blade server each time:
a. Memory and I/O Expansion Blade (if one is installed)
b. (Trained service technician only) System board assembly
1. Reseat the blade server.
2. Check the function of the shared BladeCenter unit resources (see
"Solving shared BladeCenter resource problems" on page 66).
3. (Trained service technician only) Replace the system board
assembly.
Note: If problem persists, perform the following tasks.
1. Reseat the blade server.
2. Check the function of the shared BladeCenter unit resources (see
"Solving shared BladeCenter resource problems" on page 66.
3. (Trained service technician only) Replace the system board
assembly.
