Glossary

Analyzer module
Functional module of the gas analyzer that contains the physical measuring module and the
associated electronic modules and in itself represents a function unit.
Analyzer unit
Physical measuring module without printed circuit boards that is located in the analyzer
module.
Beam collector
Optical component which combines two beams.
Beam divider
Optical component which divides a beam.
Blank plate
Cover of the rear panel window of the housing. When an analyzer module, option modules or
a gas management module is removed, the housing must be closed again with a blank plate
at this position.
Infrared source
Broadband infrared source in the analyzer unit.
Measured value
Value that belongs to a measured variable and that is uniquely assigned to the output of a
measuring instrument or a measuring device.
Measuring range
Range that is defined by two values (end value and start value) of the measured variable or
quantity to be output and within which the limit values for the uncertainty of the measuring
instrument are defined.
Measuring span
The difference between the end value and the initial value of a measuring range is called the
measuring span.
