Glossary

Option module

Printed circuit boards for interface expansion of the device (e.g. Profibus, Modbus, Fieldbus,

digital inputs, digital outputs, analog inputs).

Oxygen sensor

Electrochemical sensor for measuring the oxygen concentration in gases.

Processing unit

Central data processing and communication unit. Controller of all the electronic components

of a device. Communication with the device-internal modules and local user interface and

the option modules. Provides interfaces for device I/Os (Ethernet, digital inputs, digital

outputs).

Reference gas

Gas that is used as a reference for the oxygen concentration in the sample gas.

Sample gas

Gas mixture connected to the sample gas inlet of the analyzer.

Sample gas component

Part of the sample gas whose concentration is determined by means of the gas analyzer.

Wall housing

Housing including power supply unit, processing unit, local user interface, cable and blank

plates. The wall housing is prepared for installation of the analyzer module, the gas

management module and the option modules.

Wall-mounted device

Wall housing with at least one analyzer module for mounting on a wall.
