1 Application
1.1 Intended Use
The support / orthosis is to be used exclusively for orthotic wrist fittings
and is only suitable for contact with intact skin.
1.2 Effects
The form-knitted support / orthosis provides targeted wrist compression
and stabilisation. The support / orthosis promotes sensorimotor functions
and activates muscular stabilisation. The anatomically pre-shaped and
individually adaptable volar plastic splint keeps the hand in an ideal posi­
tion and limits wrist movement. The pad in the radial section of the wrist
enhances the micro-massage and promotes the resorption of oedemas,
haematomas and effusions.
1.3 Indications
• Irritation (e. g. tendovaginitis, tendomyopathy, minor joint effusion,
post-traumatic [distorsion], post-operative, reactive irritation and arth­
ralgia)
• Rheumatoid arthritis
• Carpal tunnel syndrome
• Degenerative wrist disorders (arthrosis)
• Feelings of instability (e. g. snapping ulna)
The indications must be determined by the physician.
1.4 Contraindications
1.4.1 Absolute Contraindications
None.
1.4.2 Relative Contraindications
The following indications require consultation with a physician: skin dis­
eases / injuries, inflammation, prominent scars that are swollen, reddening
and hyperthermia of the fitted limb; lymphatic flow disorders, including
