CAUTION:
If the release letter indicates an upgrade is necessary, you must perform the upgrade(s) first
and defer the next procedure until the upgrade is complete.

Accepting the Upgrade

When you have successfully installed the software on the S8300 Media Server, you will have to
administer the G700 Media Gateway and the MultiVantage software for phones and other endpoints.
Then you can verify that the upgrade is successful. Verify that terminals have dial tone and that you
can place calls.

WARNING:
When you have made the upgrade permanent, you cannot undo the installation. Test
the telephones and other endpoints before accepting the upgrade.
Accept the Upgrade

Verify that all endpoints have dial tone and that you can make calls.

Login to the web interface of the S8300 Media Server and navigate through the preliminary

screens to reach the main menu.
Choose Make Upgrade Permanent from the left pane of the main menu.

Choose Accept the Upgrade to make the upgrade permanent.

Note: This administration applies only to the primary server (not an LSP).
To continue administration of various features available to the S8300 Media Gateway with G700 Media
Gateways, you will use the SAT tools. Among many other tasks, you will use the SAT system to:
• Provide Ethernet access to MultiVantage
• Define the IP Network Region
• Add a Media Gateway
