Preparing the G700 Media Gateway
The instructions that follow guide you through a process of preparing the G700 Media Gateway after you
have mounted the empty chassis in the rack. It is possible to equip an empty G700 Media Gateway chassis
before positioning it in the rack. If you are working where space is limited, you may wish to prepare the
G700 Media Gateway before rack insertion.
The G700 Media Gateway can stand on a flat surface or be mounted in the standard 19-inch rack. If the
G700 Media Gateway is to be a table-top unit, four feet must be attached to the bottom of the unit.

CAUTION:
When handling any components of an Avaya S8300 Media Server with Avaya G700 Media
Gateways, always wear an anti-static wrist ground strap. Connect the strap to an approved
ground such as an unpainted metal surface.
