For information about power supply installation, see Installing an AC Power
Supply in an Ethernet Routing Switch 8000 Series Chassis (NN46205-306;
312751-E) or Installing a DC Power Supply in an Ethernet Routing Switch
8000 Series Chassis (NN46205-307; 313070-E). The 8010 chassis uses

CAUTION
Risk of equipment damage
Nortel does not support 8001AC and 8002DC power supplies with
R modules. R modules installed in the 8006, 8010, or 8010co
chassis require the 8004AC, 8004DC, 8005AC, or 8005DC power
supplies.
CAUTION
Risk of equipment damage
The 8004 and 8005 power supplies use different power ratings.
Nortel recommends that you do not operate the Nortel Ethernet
Routing Switch 8600 chassis with a mix of power supply models
(8004 and 8005).
If you upgrade the Nortel Ethernet Routing Switch 8600 and use a
redundant power configuration, you can hot swap the 8004 power
supply with the 8005 power supply while the Nortel Ethernet
Routing Switch 8600 remains in operation. Do not operate the
chassis with a mix of power supply models for an extended period
of time.
Upgrade the power supplies before you upgrade the modules.
