[5] The INTERNAL BARCODE READER reads the CASSETTE size, speed,
and serial number and:
• Issues an audible tone.
• Sends:
– a "Cassette Detected" message to the MCPU.
– the CASSETTE size (length and width) to the MCPU.
[6] The MCPU sends:
• A "Cassette Detect" reply to the MSC, WHICH TELLS THE msc to stop
sending further requests to the MCPU.
• a "Scan Request" to the INTERNAL PC.
[7] The INTERNAL PC:
(a) Verifies that it has enough memory to receive an image.
(b) Creates a RAW_IMAGE file to receive the image ?? is this a 10 mg.?
tIM HAS SUGGESTED THAT IT WILL VARY BASED ON PLATE
SIZE?? ANY OTHER COMMENTS?
(c) Sends a "Scan Request" reply to the MCPU with a value of "OK".
[8] The MCPU:
(a) Notifies the MSC that it is OK to load the CASSETTE.
(b) Sends the CASSETTE size and speed information to the DIGITIZER
BD.
Note
If the barcode read failed, the data would be have to be keyed in and would come
from the INTERNAL PC.
[9] The MSC executes the actions to index the SLED CAM, start the DRIVE
MOTORS, M1 and M2, and in turn move the CASSETTE into the Load
position ready to be clamped.
