3 Configuring the Server for CIFS Access
To add CIFS users and workspaces:
1. On the File Gateway server, click Start > Programs > Avid > ISIS File Gateway and
select Configuration Editor.
The Configuration Editor window opens.
2. Move the Bandwidth slider to the bandwidth speed you want available to the users, you
can also type in the value in the text box next to the slider.
Bandwidth can be set between 40 and 240, the default value is 100. You cannot set
separate bandwidth speeds to individual users.
3. Type the user_name in the User Name text box and click Add User.
User name must match the Windows user names created on the File Gateway server.
4. Repeat step 3 until all the users have been added.
5. With a User Name selected, type the name of the workspace you want to be displayed to
the client in the CIFS Workspace Name text box.
6. Type the path of the ISIS System Director and workspace name on the corporate domain
in the Share Name text box, for example \\System_Director_name\workspace_name.
7. Click Create CIFS.
8. Repeat steps 5, 6, and 7 until all the workspaces have been added.
9. Continue with setting the permissions.
