TWO-STAGE OPERATION
FIRST IGNITION POWER ADJUSTMENT
• For the two-stage burner, position the first flame gas flow
rate regulation cam of the servomotor to an opening angle
approximately between 15° and 20°.
• If present, open the safety valve flow rate regulator fully.
• Now turn on the burner panel switch START/STOP switch. The
control equipment is powered and the programmer activates
the burner as described in the chapter "Operation description".
During pre-ventilation, make sure that the air pressure
switch changes its status (from the closed position without
pressure measurement to the closed position with pressure
measurement). If the air pressure switch does not detect
sufficient pressure, the ignition transformer is not switched on,
nor are the gas valves, therefore the equipment "locks out".
• On first switching on repeated "lock-outs" may occur due to the
following reasons:
• The gas piping has not been bled from air correctly and so there
is not enough gas to provide a stable flame.
Adjust the air flow in the first stage in the following manner:
• Loosen the nut (1), adjust the air damper opening by acting
on the screw (2), turning clockwise the air flow increases, vice
versa it decreases.
- Proceed with the regulation of the air until a position is found
which allows ignition without resulting in blocking.
IMPORTANT
In order to avoid damage to the lever system, it is advisable
to unlock the nut (1) with the aid of a wrench or counter
wrench.
- It may occur that the ionisation current is disturbed by
the discharge current of the ignition transformer (the two
currents have a common path on the burner's "mass").
Therefore, the burner locks out due to an insufficient
ionisation. Invert the supply (230V side) of the ignition
transformer.
• Another lock-out cause might be caused by an insufficient
"ground connection" to the burner's casing.
SECOND STAGE POWER REGULATION.
• After adjusting the regulation for the first ignition, turn off the
burner and close the electrical circuit commanding inclusion of
the second stage. Set the switch on the printed circuit to the
second stage position.
• Check that the electric servomotor second stage gas flow
rate regulation cam is positioned on 90°.
• Switch the burner on again closing the master switch.
• The burner will switch on automatically and activate the second
stage.
With the aid of appropriate instruments, attend to the regulation
of the air and gas flow according to the procedures subsequently
described:
• For adjusting the gas flow, act on the valve regulator: for this
purpose please refer to the specific instructions for the single-
stage gas valve model installed.
• Avoid keeping the burner running if the heating capacity is
greater than the maximum amount allowed for the boiler, to
avoid damaging it.
• For adjusting the air flow, loosen the nuts (4) and (4a) by acting
on the tie rod (3) with a wrench.
• Adjust the air damper rotation angle in the position necessary to
guarantee the suitable air quantity for the power burned.
DANGER / ATTENTION
In order to avoid damage to the lever system, it is advisable
to unlock the nuts (4) and (4a) with the aid of a wrench or
counter wrench.
