Firmware Upgrades
3.4.1
BIOS
The BIOS can be upgraded using "flashrom" under Linux. flashrom Version 0.9.7-
r1855 or newer is required.
flashrom is available via www.flasrom.org or as part of all major Linux distributions.
Documentation on flashrom can also be found there.
Start flashrom with the following parameters to update the BIOS on the FWA-1320:
-w (BIOS Name) –p internal: laptop=this _is _not_laptop

LAN Bypass
LAN Bypass Firmware can be upgraded via the LAN Bypass Software. Please refer
to the Advanced LAN Bypass User's Manual for details.

Replacing FRUs
Please make sure you follow the safety guidelines presented in section1.1 when
making changes to the hardware.
For instruction on how to remove and install the top cover of the unit please refer to
section 3.3.

Disk drives
3.5.1.1
2.5" HDD
You need:
a PH2 screw driver
A standard 2.5" SATA HDDTo remove the HDD, proceed in the reverse of the installa-
tion procedure in section 3.3.1.1:
1.
Detach the HDD power and SATA cables
2.
Remove the four screws on the corners of the HDD carrier plate and remove the
HDD carrier plate from the system
3.
Remove the HDD mounting screws and extract the HDD from the carrier plate.
4.
Install a new HDD by following the instructions in section 3.3.1.1.
