2.3 Unpacking The FWA-1013 is packaged inside a single carton, collectively referred to as the “box” in the remainder of this document. When opening the box, you will find the FWA-1013 embedded in protective foam and the accessory box embedded to the foam. Remove the accessory box first and then pull out the unit including the protective foam using both hands.
Additionally, these guidelines can also be used for the installation of text-based OS. The FWA-1013 supports 1x VGA port and 2x USB ports for connecting of a monitor, keyboard, and mouse. For details on the location of these connectors, please refer to Section 3.2.1.
If your PC lacks an RS232 port, consider acquiring a USB-to-RS232 cable (Figure 2.4-3). Do note that for the two RS232 ends of the cables, one should be male and the other female. The FWA-1013 also supports operation via a serial console port, suitable for situations without a connected monitor.

If you intend to use PuTTY on a PC running Windows OS. The following of this section describes how to configure PuTTY on a Windows platform for connection with the FWA-1013 serial console as a reference. Otherwise, feel free to skip these steps if you have another preferred method. Other terminal programs may be used in a similar way as well.

Before connecting the FWA-1013 to the power outlet, ensure that the power rating of the outlet matched that of the FWA-1013’ PSU. Also, verify the primary circuit and all power distribution in not overloaded. Inrush current and steady state power specifications for the FWA-1013 can be found at the label under the bottom of the unit.
3. Product Specification 3.1 Overview FWA-1013 is desktop network platform which is powered by Intel® Atom® P5300/C5300 Processor Family. The Intel® Atom® P5300/C5300 Processor is integrated with Intel Quick Assist Technology to increases encrypted packet throughput. FWA-1013 platform integrates 1G/2.5G/10GbE wired networking ports, IPMI interfaces and unique NMC expansion.

4.3 Firmware Upgrades The FWA-1013 is equipped with BMC (Baseboard Management Controller) functionality. Firmware upgrades can be performed through BMC. First, you need to set the BMC IP address.
