8.2 Overview

NOTICE
Damage through regenerative feedback
Regenerative feedback of voltage to ground by a connected or installed component can
damage the device.
Connected or built-in I/Os, for example, a USB drive, are not permitted to supply any voltage
to the device. Regenerative feedback is generally not permitted.
NOTICE
The module can be damaged if power is connected when wiring the MCU
When connecting the MCU, the system and the MCU must be disconnected (brought into a no
voltage condition).
8.2
Overview
Connection options
The MCU has a series of interfaces via which the power supply and the remaining system
components are connected.
● The various SINAMICS components are connected with the MCU via PROFINET.
● Actuators and sensors can be connected to the digital inputs/outputs.
● The MCUs have the following communication options:
– Ethernet
– PROFINET
The following overview shows an example of the various interfaces and their connection
options.
