8.7 Connecting peripheral equipment

Procedure
1. Connect the wires as shown.
Note
Ensure that the wires are not connected to the wrong terminals. The labeling for the contacts
is on the cover of the device.
2. Tighten the screw with a force of 0.5 N.

Note
Observe suitability for industrial applications
Only connect I/O devices that are suitable for industrial applications in accordance with
EN IEC 61800-3.
Note
I/O devices capable of hot-plugging (USB)
Hot-plug I/O devices (USB) may be connected while the PC is in operation.

NOTICE
Damage to the device
Do not adjust the screws in the connection terminal when it is plugged into the device. The
pressure of the screwdriver on the connection terminal and the socket can damage the
device.
Connect the wires to the connection terminal when it is not plugged in.
