1. Intended use

The ISOMETER® monitors the asymmetrical insulation resistance R
arthed DC main circuits (IT systems) with nominal system voltages of

In the case of an insulation fault on a power conductor, the
measured residual voltage is evaluated to determine the
insulation resistance R
can be detected using the passive measurement method
employed in this ISOMETER®. Equally large insulation faults
between the positive and negative power conductors to
earth (i.e. symmetrical faults) are not detected .
In the event of an alarm message, the insulation fault should
be eliminated as quickly as possible.
