Aptiva Helper. Your computer comes with a program
called the "Aptiva Helper." This program helps you
answer questions and solve problems. It contains
information to help you register your computer, back up
operating system and data files, run computer
diagnostics, and obtain IBM support.
To start the Aptiva Helper, follow these steps:
1.
Click on the Start button on your Windows 95
desktop.
2.
Move your mouse pointer to the Aptiva Helper
option and click on it.
Online documentation. Your computer comes with
different types of online documentation. The software
that came preloaded on your computer includes online
tutorials and exercises that can help you learn how to
use your computer. Help is also available as you use
your software programs. In most software programs,
you can press F1 to access help.
From the Windows 95 desktop, you can search for
specific help topics about your computer.
To start your computer's help system, follow these
steps:
1.
Click on the Start button on your Windows 95
desktop.
2.
Move your mouse pointer to the Help option and
click on it.
IBM Update Connector. Your computer comes with
a tool to help you obtain available updates to the
software that came with your computer. This tool is
called the "Update Connector." Using your connection
to the Internet, the Update Connector examines your
current software and then lets you automatically install
appropriate updates.
To access the Update Connector, follow these steps:
1.
Click on the Start button on your Windows 95
desktop.
2.
Move your mouse pointer to the Programs menu
and then to the AptivaWare menu.
3.
Click on the IBM Update Connector option.
