RF Gain Setting Criteria
The RF Gain is set automatically by the Repeater's SALC function (section 1.3). The
function sets the optimum gain without exceeding the isolation limit.
The gain range is 49-80 dB. The value is set to 80dB by default. The gain is modified
automatically to its optimum value by the SALC mechanism. This mechanism performs
gradual learning of traffic load characteristics and adjusts the Repeater RF Gain
accordingly.
NOTE: The gain can also be set manually. It is recommended to set the Downlink path
gain to a maximum value that is 10 dB below the isolation between the Base antenna
and the Mobile antenna. Use the Max Gain field for Downlink GAIN setting and the Gain
Delta field to determine the GAIN difference between Uplink and Downlink path (Uplink
GAIN follows Downlink GAIN by "Delta" dB).
