Description
3.6 Description of options
3.6.33

IP42 degree of protection (option M42)

The degree of protection of the drive is increased from IP22 to IP42. Additional close-meshed
grilles where the air comes in and goes out prevent the ingress of solid matter with diameters
> 1.0 mm.
3.6.34

Redundant fan in the power unit (option M61)

To increase the plant availability, an additional redundant fan is installed. The differential
pressure sensing function in the cabinet immediately identifies if a fan in the cabinet fails. The
open-loop control system switches on the redundant fan so that the drive system does not fail.
This prevents production failures or interruptions. The replacement of the defective fan can be
postponed to the next planned stoppage.
3.6.35
Preparation for connection to an external exhaust air system with internal cabinet
fans (option M64)
The internal cabinet fans ensure that the volume of cool air required for cooling can be supplied
without the risk of air distribution problems. If the discharged air is fed into a duct system over
long sections or even around bends, the pressure drop arising in this duct system must be
compensated for by additional fans in the air discharge system. Suitable "flange connections"
to connect the drive to an external air discharge system are located in the top section of the
cabinet.
3.6.36

Power cable connection at the drive output from above (option M78)

The motor-side power cables can be introduced into the cabinet from the top.
3.6.37

Capacitor release (option N20)

Option N20 can be used for circuit-breakers with control voltages of 110 – 120 VDC.
Note
Circuit diagrams
Also use the circuit diagrams MA sheet 1 and LA sheet 6 and 7 provided in the circuit manual
of the drive to understand the principle of operation.
The capacitor release is used for circuit-breakers that have a break time of 80 ms but do not
have an undervoltage release.
If the control voltage for the switchgear fails, the drive circuit-breaker is deactivated by the
energy stored in the capacitors of the capacitor release. The circuit-breaker is also deactivated
when a control voltage is present if the output voltage of the capacitor release or drive control
voltage fails. The OFF command is sent to the circuit-breaker via two redundant circuits.
