DRIVING CONTROLS
STARTING AND DRIVING
The instrument cluster shows the state of
each of these parameters and provides an
indication of the maximum performance
available at any one time.
When the Boost button on the centre console
is off (not illuminated) the autoboost is active.
This gives 100% of available hybrid power.
When the boost button is turned on
(illuminated), the hybrid boost is only active
when the IPAS button is pressed.
IPAS will only be available when specific
driving conditions are met. See IPAS, page 6.6
for a full description of this system.
In Hybrid mode the HV battery continuously
recharges using surplus energy from the
petrol engine. The HV battery can also be
charged when the vehicle is parked by
connecting an off-board charger.
Connect the off-board charger (see Charging
the High Voltage Battery, page 5.22) and
switch on the main electricity supply to start
charging of the HV battery.
The charger should preferably be stored
off-board in a garage but can be stored in the
luggage compartment. A battery can be
recharged from empty in 2 hours using a
domestic current supply.
NOTE: The HV Battery is not a customer-
serviceable item.
WARNING: Tampering with this battery
carries the risk of serious injury or death.
