3.1 Safety information
Danger
Explosion hazard
The gas analyzer FIDAMAT 6 is not permitted for measuring ignitable mixtures in normal
operation. If the device should be used for measuring flammable gases, which could form an
ignitable mixture with air or oxygen, special measures must be taken to protect against
explosion!
Danger
Danger of burns
The inside of the device reaches a temperature of approx. 200°C during operation. Via
function 2, in addition to the actual temperature of the oven, every other temperature setting
can be called.
After switching off, the temperatures cool off only very slowly. For this reason, the oven is not
accessible for operating personnel in normal operation.
Make sure that you use protective gloves when carrying out maintenance. Please note as
well that hydrogen is colorless when it burns. Non-observance may result in serious burns.

Note
Flushing the housing
In accordance with the details in the "Technical data" section, there may be what is to be
regarded as a limited escape of flammable components from leaks in the sample path. With
the FIDAMAT 6 there is no need to flush the housing provided it has been ensured that there
is a natural exchange of air from the environment. This applies particularly when the unit is
installed in cabinets.
Warning
Toxic and/or corrosive gases
However, this does not apply to toxic or corrosive gases! In this regard the maximum
allowable workplace concentration figures must be observed. With such gases, flushing must
always be carried out after work is completed.
