Essential Performance
The iASSIST Pod contains inertial sensors (accelerometers and gyroscopes) and instrument identification switches.
The following performances have been identified as essential to the iASSIST Pod:
1. The accelerometer inclination measurements on all axes are stable within ±1.0°.
2. The gyroscope rotation speed measurements on all axes are stable within ±1.0°/sec.
3. The instrument identification switches detect the right instrument code.
These essential performances have been tested during electromagnetic immunity tests up to the levels shown in
table 5.6 and 5.7. Loss or degradation of essential performance can result in navigation errors and/or instrument
misidentification.
