Wrap Test

The Wrap Test checks the circuits used to communicate with the host
computer.
To run the Wrap Test:
1. Turn the printer off.
2. Disconnect the parallel cable.
3. Install the parallel wrap plug (P/N 1319128).
4. Open the top cover.
5. Turn the printer on.
6. Close the top cover.
7. The Customer Test Page will print with the results of the Wrap
Test indicated in the "other settings" box.
• [PARALLEL FAILED] The wrap test field of the test page will
be blank. This is the same result if the Customer Test Page is
printed in stand-alone mode without a wrap plug. A fail
message indicates a defective system board.
• [PARALLEL PASSED] The wrap test field of the test page will
indicate "Passed". A pass message indicates the printer
connection to the printer cable connector is good.
8. Only one check is made before the test page prints.
9. Turn the printer off, then remove the wrap plug from the interface
connector.
10. Reconnect the parallel cable to the printer.
11. Turn the printer on (to POR the printer).

Error Log

The 9XX error codes are stored in NVRAM as they are detected. The
error codes are communicated to the host PC through the bidirectional
communications link and WPS. The only errors not reported to the host
PC are the ones caused by a defective ROM, microprocessor, ASIC, or
major failure on the system board. The printer stores a flag in NVRAM
indicating an error has been reported and will retain the last six errors in
the log for later retrieval with the newest error overwriting the oldest
error.
To print the error log information:
1. Use either the diagnostic service diskette or the internal WPS
Diagnostic Toolkit, if installed.
2. Select Setup from the menu.
