Description
With this system, plastic pipes Ø25 x 2.3 mm with a
length of 100 m each are laid to extract the heat from
the earth. The brine medium circulates in these pipes.
The heat exchange between the brine medium and
refrigerant takes place in the evaporator set (stain-
less steel plate heat exchanger).
Scope of delivery
Depending on version, the delivery of a surface coll-
ector includes, plastic pipes and a connection unit
with distributor.
The connecting lines between the distributor and the
heat pump must be created by client. It is not allowed
to use galvanized hoses.
Note:
- Only antifreeze approved by iDM Energiesysteme
GmbH are permitted for use.
- Brine circuit lines must be fi tted with steam diffusi-
on-proof insulation to protect against condensation
and ice formation (e.g. Armafl ex).
- When fi lling the brine circuit with antifreeze mixture,
the expansion vessel must be fi lled (due to a reduc-
tion in volume when cooling in operation).
- The mixing ratio of the brine medium has to be cho-
sen for -15° C (= 30 % antifreeze concentration if to
much antifreeze is mixed , the specifi c heat capa-
city of the brine medium sinks.
In many countries the geothermal applica-
tions have to be authorized by the water
right authority. An application has to be
provided right in time.

The possible heat loss depends on the soil conditions.
Basically valid is that: in dry soils the heat loss capa-
city goes down, in humid soils it goes up. For 1 kW
of heating output of the heat pump you need 30 - 40
m
2
soil.
The specifi ed surface area required for ground heat
pumps relates to the average earth quality (soil, clay).
With poor quality earth (gravel), the necessary line
length and thus also the surface area should be in-
creased and the pipes embedded in fi ne-grain sand
(cable sand 0.3 to 0.5 mm).
For further information please contact your iDM-
partner.
According to the different types of house building and
the different installation locations of the heat pumps
different pipe lengths from the distributor of the sur-
face collector to the heat pump are required.
The pressure loss in the brine pipes is increasing due
to result of sinking temperature and rising portion of
monopropylenglykol, at the mixture of the brine use
the recommended concentration.
