Upgrade Subscriber

6.4.1

Before Beginning the Upgrade

Use the following procedures to upgrade the subscriber.
The following items must be addressed before beginning the upgrade:
1. You must obtain the latest subscriber binary files.
2. The subscriber performs all software upgrades using an FTP server:

Connection to Subscriber

If performing the upgrade using the local Ethernet port, it is important to use the
correct cables and connections when updating the subscriber. Refer to the
following illustration.
Connecting customer premises Ethernet equipment directly to the 'Data and Power
Out' connector on the subscriber Power-over-Ethernet power adapter may damage
customer network interface equipment

a) The FTP server must be located on the network connected to an
active Ethernet port (Data or Mgmt) on the base station, or on the
Ethernet port of the subscriber (i.e., laptop).
b) You must copy the binary files into the default file location for the
FTP server. You can not specify a 'path' in the upgrade dialog.
c) The FTP server must have a user defined as follows:
username:

password:
secret
