Effect of communications errors on grouped systems
The communications links between the master unit and the slave units should be trouble
and maintenance free if correctly installed. However, in the event that a communications
error occurs between the master and a slave, the slave station will be taken out of the
system for a few seconds to allow it to recover and automatic retries will be performed
periodically. These errors are most likely to occur during power up/power down of slave
systems.
A slave unit which has been powered down will be brought back on-line automatically
within a few seconds of power being applied.
Performance of the communications link can be viewed on the communications diagnostic
page on the master Hydro-View.
