Current Profile Window

The
window displays basic information about the current profile and connection settings. This
Current Profile
window updates every two seconds.
To open the
Current Profile
Displays the Relative Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) of the signal transmitted between
the AP and reader. As long as the Signal Quality icon is green the AP association is not
jeopardized. If the icon is red (poor signal), an association with a different AP could be
warranted to improve the signal. The signal strength icon changes depending on the
signal strength.
Excellent Signal

Out of Range (no signal)
The radio card is off or there is a problem communicating with the radio card.
Indicates if the reader is associated with the AP.
Displays a text format of the Signal icon.
Displays a percentage of the number of data packets the reader retransmits. The fewer
transmit retries, the more efficient the wireless network is.
Displays a percentage of the amount of beacons the reader missed. The fewer transmit
retries, the more efficient the wireless network is. Beacons are uniform system packets
broadcast by the AP to keep the network synchronized.
The AP signal level in decibels per milliwatt (dBm).
The background interference (noise) level in decibels per milliwatt (dBm).
The access point/reader Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) of signal strength to noise
(interference) in decibels per milliwatt (dBm).
Displays the number of APs the reader connects to while roaming.
Displays the MAC address of the AP to which the reader is connected.
Displays the current rate of the data transmission.
