UDI-14™ Simulator
The UDI-14™ Simulator function is used to perform a dive simulation by connecting the UDI-14™ to the
computer, and seeing the way a dive plays out on the UDI-14™.
During a simulated dive using this function, the UDI-14™ reacts exactly in the same way as it would in a
real dive. This allows you to test your planned dive.
The UDI-14™ Simulator Dive depth graph shows the dive profile over time. In a dive simulation, the
dive-depth profile updates twenty times faster than real-time.
The Tissue saturation graph updates as a result of the dive depth profile and is calculated at the speed
of the dive simulation. This is actually the calculation performed by a dive computer.
The Dive configuration panel displays the dive parameters on the simulator.
It contains the following:
Conservatism level – shows one of the 5 available levels
Altitude – shows the altitude level for your dive location.
EAN – shows Nitrox percentage defined
Max depth – shows the maximum depth, to determine the PO
Salt water – checked if this is a salt water dive simulation
Deep stops enabled – checked to allow this option.
The Dive computer display panel shows the dive computer data. The same data simultaneously
appears in the UDI-14™ wrist unit that is connected to the PC. (see
The top of the Dive computer display contains the Up and Down buttons that serve a similar function to
the Up and Down buttons on the UDI-14™ unit.
Click the Up button to see the RGBM setup parameters.
Click the Down button to see the last diver parameters.
The left side of the Dive computer display contains the simulator controls which are used to simulate a
dive:
Up arrow – moves the diver up
Down arrow – moves the diver down
Forward arrow – maintains the diver at the selected depth
Pause button – pauses the simulation. When paused, the button is red.
