Position the end of the discharge line higher than the fluid level in the

storage tank to avoid overstraining.

Install an adjustable back pressure valve in the discharge line and

install a shut-off valve in the suction line, which has to be closed when
the pump is at a standstill (preferably a solenoid valve).
If the system is primed from lines with fluctuating pressure, use a

hopper with a float valve to ensure a regular discharge flow.
