Testing functionality by secondary injection
1. Connect the test set for injection of voltage and current.
2. Inject voltages and currents corresponding to a phase-to-phase to ground fault within zone 1
of the distance protection function. In the test one of the current inputs (one of the faulted
phases) is disconnected. The remaining current is the fault current out on the protected line.
All combinations of two phase-to-ground faults with one phase current are tested. The result
shall be according to table 31. It should be checked that the fault will give phase-to-phase
voltage, phase-to-ground voltage, zero-sequence voltage and phase current so that the
conditions set for the logic are fulfilled.

Completing the test

Continue to test another function or end the test by changing the
Restore connections and settings to their original values, if they were changed for testing
purposes.
10.4.15 Under impedance protection for Generator ZGVPDIS
Prepare the IED for verification of settings.
Values of the logical signals for ZGVPDIS are available on the local HMI under Main menu/Tests/
Function status/Impedance/ZGVPDIS (21G, Z<)/1:ZGVPDIS:ZGVPDIS. The Signal Monitoring in
PCM600 shows the same signals that are available on the local HMI.
10.4.15.1 Verifying the settings
Distance protection zones
While measuring operating characteristics, keep the current constant. Keep the current as close as
possible to its rated value or lower, however make sure it is higher than 30% of the rated current.
If the measurement of the operating characteristics runs under constant voltage conditions,
ensure that the maximum continuous current in an IED does not exceed four times its rated value.
