3. REPLACING THE IMPORTANT PARTS
4. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the 2 screws and then take off the main PC board.
5. Replace the bottom cover or the main PC board with a new one and then reassemble it in the reverse
order of removal.
NOTE:
Refer to "2.4 DIP Switch" about the DIP switch setting of the main PC board.
6. After replacement, perform the media sensor adjustment.
By using the button of the printer or the B-FV4 Setting Tool, perform the media sensor calibration.
Regarding the media sensor calibration, refer to "6.1 Feed Gap Sensor / Black Mark Sensor
Adjustments" or "7.2 Working with B-FV Setting Tool".
NOTE:
Step 6 for adjusting the media sensor are unnecessary for B-FV4D-GL because its
sensor is used only to detect the paper-end condition.
7. Printer parameter setting
Perform a printer parameter setting with the B-FV4 Setting Tool.
8. Interface setting
Perform an interface setting (RS-232C, Ethernet) with the B-FV4 Setting Tool.
NOTE:
It is possible to save/upload the printer parameter and interface setting into/from the PC
with the B-FV4 Setting Tool.
9. Also, make sure the printer is performing correctly regarding the following points.
 The sensor adjustment is performed correctly.
 Printing is performed correctly during the diagnostic test print.
 When the PC connected to the printer sends sample data to the printer, printing is performed
correctly.
NOTE: Firmware download onto the main PC board
Perform a firmware download onto the main PC board if necessary (in the case of an
alteration/addition to the specifications).
Regarding the download procedure, refer to Firmware Down Loading Procedure which is
posted on the Barcode Knowledge Pot. The firmware program to be downloaded is also
available from this website.
