Configure the Device with the Network Device

Viewing and Editing the FP-1600 TCP/IP settings
FieldPoint FP-1600 User Manual
Follow these steps to set up the FP-1600 with the Network Device
Configurator:
1.
Install, connect, and power up the FP-1600, if you have not done so
already. Make sure you write down the serial number printed on the
back of the unit.
2.
Connect a computer to the Ethernet. You will use this computer to
configure the device. The computer must be running Windows 98,
Windows 95, or Windows NT. It must be attached to the same physical
network segment as the FP-1600 that you want to configure and
properly configured for Ethernet communication.
3.
Run the Network Device Configurator,
networked computer. The Network Devices window appears. You can
also use the FieldPoint Explorer to configure the device. Refer to
Chapter 3,
Hardware and Software
information about how to configure your computer with the FieldPoint
Explorer.
To view the TCP/IP settings for an FP-1600 from within FieldPoint
Explorer, right-click on the Comm Resource which contains the FP-1600.
Select Edit this comm resource from the pop-up menu. Click on the
Browse button in the Comm Resource dialog. From the Network Devices
dialog box, select the FP-1600 whose settings you would like to view, and
click on Device Properties. When you are done editing/viewing the
settings, click on OK. Click on Cancel to discard any changes you have
made.
