With the handheld you can observe the signal states of the
connected device. The signal states are shown module−orien
tated on the handheld. With the arrow buttons { and } you
can switch the display of the signal states from module to
module (see also Fig. 4/3).
In order to observe the signal state of a module, proceed as
follows:
1. Switch to the main menu and select the module, the
signal states of which you wish to observe (here mod
ule 3: 8DI/8DO).
2. Select command [Monitoring/Forcing (M)].
The current signal states (process state) of the selected
module will then be displayed.
Example: Modules with single−bit operands
Modules with single−bit operands can have several I/O
bytes. With digital modules the abbreviations have the
following meanings:
I:00..07: input 00 to input 07
O:00..07: output 00 to output 07 etc.
The signal state of the individual bits is represented
graphically.
l = 1−signal; ¡ = 0−signal;
In the example shown, only output 1 (O:01) and output 5
(O:05) supply a 1−signal.
The currently selected byte is marked (framed).
