System Mirror and clustering
The PRIMEQUEST series has a System Mirror that reduces the available memory,
crossbar, and chip set contents by half and makes both of the halved parts perform the
same operation. Even if a failure occurs in one part, job processing need not be
stopped but can be continued. Operation in System Mirror provides higher
availability.
Thus the PRIMEQUEST series increases the availability of hardware by operation in
System Mirror. However, System Mirror does not support software redundancy.
Installation of a cluster system can increase the availability of the entire system also
as far as software is concerned.
By constructing a system using both System Mirror and clustering functions, the
availability of the system can be improved even further.

Do not use the spanning tree protocol (STP) for a switch to be used as
interconnect. Otherwise, the system will enter the non-communication
state at reconfiguration of a link, thereby disabling interconnect
communication.
