(10) XDIs
A redundant configuration and hot swapping are available while System Mirror is
enabled. They are not available when System Mirror is not set.
When the operation is performed in System Mirror:
Two XDI systems form a redundant configuration. If an XDI fails, the failed XDI is
automatically isolated from the system operation configuration, and the operation
continues with the other normal XDI in degradation mode without a reboot. The
failed XDI thus isolated can be hot-swapped. To incorporate a new XDI into the
system, the entire server must be restarted.
When the operation is performed without System Mirror:
An XDI does not form a redundant configuration. If the XDI fails, all partitions stop.
The failed XDI can be maintained (swapped) while all partitions are stopped. A new
XDI after swapping is automatically incorporated into the system when any partition
is started.
(11) MMBs
The MMB is usually duplicated and hot swapping is enabled.
If the active MMB fails, it automatically switches to the other normal MMB. The
failed MMB can be hot-swapped.
(12) KVM
Redundant configuration is not adopted, but hot swapping is available.
(13) DVD drive
Redundant configuration is not adopted, but hot swapping is available. However, the
DVD drive cannot solely be swapped since it is the built-in drive of the KVM.
(14) CPCBs
Redundant configuration is not adopted, and hot swapping is not available.
Two Clock Generators (CLGs) are mounted on a CPCB. When a CLG fails, an MMB
controls operation to switch from the failed CLG to the normal CLG. When a CLG
fails, the entire server is restarted automatically.
